How would you spend one more day with a lost loved one? I think I'd want to spend it the way that Charley did--just listening to stories that were never told, understanding things that the person experienced that I couldn't understand as a child. I think the best part of this story is the way that Charley's memories of his mother and her take on those memories are different. It just goes to show that we don't see things the way they are--we see them the way we are.
If you enjoyed Tuesdays with Morrie or The Five People You Meet in Heaven, you will enjoy this book too. It's a fast read and good for your heart.
